Steven J. Roberts has been practicing in the commercial real estate law field since 1983 representing both landlords and tenants. Mr. Roberts has drafted and negotiated complex retail real estate leases and reciprocal easement agreements for major enclosed shopping centers , strip centers, mixed use centers, street retail and airport facilities. He also possesses extensive experience in the negotiation of development agreements, purchase and sale agreements, department store agreements, and “big box” agreements. He has worked on the successful development of shopping centers ranging from small neighborhood centers to enclosed regional malls of one million square feet. Prior to joining HSPH, Mr. Roberts served as real estate counsel to The Limited Inc. before moving on to Wilmorite Inc. where he served as vice president of the legal department for the national shopping center developer. He later joined Altman, Kritzer & Levick where he was a partner. He recently served as vice president of real estate law for Ahold USA. Steve graduated magna cum laude from St. John Fisher College and received his Juris Doctor degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School. He has been a speaker at various legal education seminars for ICSC, The Practicing Law Institute and others. He is on the editorial board of Commercial Leasing Law and Strategy. Mr. Roberts is admitted to practice in New York and Georgia and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
